Night, Lights, People

These photos were taken during my trip to Tokyo last summer. Under the night sky, there were flashing lights, and countless people coming and going. It is as though the streets are glowing at night, reflecting the nightlife of people in Japan. I attempted a variety of compositions and colours within these photos. Some were more traditional with a main subject or guidelines, while others were more creative, with the buildings towering down on the people. The small people walking contrasts with the large buildings, illustrating the feeling of breathlessness and inability of individuals when compared to the system. I tried to keep the colour tone warm so that the images show more of the bustling streets and culture rather than the cold architecture. During my trips, I often went out and took photos with my friend, which was the reason I was able to capture so many amazing images. These photos were not taken for the sake of taking photos, but rather as a way of expressing my feelings and emotions throughout the trip. Editing and organizing these photos, it is as though I travelled back in time, to the summer of 2023 again.
